Safe Haven Shelter appreciates the generosity of our community. We value every donation, but have limited storage space. Please scroll down this page to note those items that we are in particular need of and those that we are unable to accept. If you have any further questions please feel free to call 218-728-6481.
These items may be dropped off at any time (Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm is preferable because we have more staffing) but due to limited storage space we ask that you limit the number of bags/boxes to five or fewer.
* Please note that we only accept brand new undergarments.
(ex. Copy paper, pens, etc.)
These items are in high demand at the current time.
All-Terrain Stroller (for use at the Shelter)
Henna Craft Kits for a group craft project Calendars for 2007 (Desk and Wall)
Full Size Quilts
New Pillows
Please contact the shelter first to see if storage space is currently available for these items. Also note that all electronics/appliances must be in full working order as it is very expensive for us to get rid of broken electronics/appliances.
When we have an abundance of particular items we put them on this list but encourage you to check back because we will likely need them in the future.
Due to limited storage space there are some items we just can not accept. Please think about taking your donations to the Salvation Army, Goodwill or Damiano.
* The only exception to this is if you are able and willing to store and then deliver the items to the new home of a woman leaving the shelter. If so, please call the shelter and ask to speak with the follow-up advocate.
Do you have an old cell phone that you're not using? Don't throw it away - donate it to Safe Haven Shelter! With your old cell phone, a battered woman, can call 911 in an emergency. In addition, as part of our recycling program, old cell phones can generate income to help us provide services. Drop offs can be made at Safe Haven Shelter or at Super One Foods in Superior and Duluth.
