Cell Phones

Do you have an old cell phone that you're not using? Don't throw it away - donate it to Safe Haven Shelter! With your old cell phone, a battered woman, can call 911 in an emergency. In addition, as part of our recycling program, old cell phones can generate income to help us provide services. Drop offs can be made at Safe Haven Shelter or at Super One Foods in Superior and Duluth.

Money

Did you know?

  • $100 provides meals for 37 shelter residents for one day.
  • $30 pays for changing the locks on a house or apartment.
  • $25 pays the deposit for telephone service for a family moving into a new home or apartment.
  • $10 buys a phone.
  • $80 pays for educational supplies (school supplies, backpack, gym shoes, participation fees, field trips) for a child starting school.
  • $3 pays for transportation to and from school for a child at the shelter.

It costs so little to help so much!
