Available is a wide-variety of resources to assist women seeking protection and safety. Located in-house are agencies such as the Duluth Police Department, Arrowhead Regional Correction (Probation), Legal Aide, County and City Attorney's Office, and the Safe Haven Shelter Legal Advocates. Examples of services include creating a safety plan, obtaining a temporary restraining order, establishing child visitation schedules, discussing charges against abuser with a Duluth Police Investigator, contacting attorneys to talk about divorce, custody or parenting time, and contacting an abuser's probation officer.
To assist women during the healing process, we offer space to meet with advocates from the Program to Aid Victims of Sexual Assault (PAVSA), a professional therapist, support groups, a monthly wellness clinic, and professional hair care. Child care is offered for women engaged in meetings, appointments, or support groups.
